Deepal & Avatr: Decoding Changan's Dual-Brand Global Push

Deepal positions itself as 'tech for the masses' in mainstream smart EVs, covering RMB 120,000–250,000. Its core models — the S05, S07 and S09 — span compact SUV, mid-size SUV and a large six-seat EREV flagship, with 500–720km CLTC range; versions with Huawei Qiankun ADS draw exceptional overseas attention.

Avatr, co-built by Changan, Huawei and CATL, is the premium play: the 11 and 12 sit at RMB 280,000–450,000, with avant-garde design, Huawei's full-stack ADS and an 800V high-voltage platform, competing head-on with German premium brands in Dubai and Bangkok.

Sourcing advice: for volume, choose the Deepal S07/S05 — wide certification coverage and cheap parts; for margin, choose the Avatr 12/07L — high per-unit profit and fewer rivals; for family or business shuttle duty, the Deepal S09 six-seater has almost no direct rival at its price.

Both brands share Changan's global channels, RHD and high-temperature variants, and already hold EU WVTA and multiple Middle East certifications — meaning shorter lead times and lower homologation costs for importers.
