China EV Export Trends & Price Advantages in 2026

China's auto exports exceeded 6.4 million units in 2025, with NEVs accounting for over 35% — making it the single most important growth engine of the global auto industry. Changan, BYD and Chery have upgraded the 'Made in China' label from value-for-money to technology and quality.

On pricing, Chinese EV EXW factory prices are typically 30%–50% lower than comparable European, Japanese or Korean models. Taking the Deepal S07 and Avatr 12 as examples, their landed prices abroad remain well below local competitors, leaving healthy margins for importers.

The hottest export models in 2026 sit in the USD 15,000–30,000 range: mid-size SUVs (Deepal S07, BYD Song L), compact BEVs (Yuan UP, Seagull) and extended-range family cars (Deepal S09, NEVO Q07), favored across the Middle East, Latin America and Central Asia.

Advice for importers: prioritize high-volume models with stable parts supply; confirm local duties, homologation and LHD/RHD requirements; work with suppliers capable of full export documentation to cut 2–4 weeks off delivery time.
